∞ INDIVIDUAL OR COUPLES PSYCHOTHERAPY is an option for those who are depressed or anxious and feel "stuck". Medication usually has been tried and is on-going, yet the malaise remains. My approach is Transactional Analysis (TA) where you are asked to make a commitment of 10 sessions. Each person will learn of their personality adaptations based on the research by Dr. Vann Joines. Ms. Michie uses his instrument the Joines Personality Adaptation (JPA) which is a simple paper and pencil test that requires approximately 10-15 minutes to administer. By knowing your personality adaptations, allows the couple or individual to clearly see where the pitfalls are and what they can chose to change about themselves that will resolve the pitfalls or "stuckness". In working with couples, it is not about "if he/she changes then everything will be okay." It's about changing yourself and getting your partner to support you in that change. This requires "risking" or being "vulnerable" with each other rather than defending and blaming. To learn more about Transactional Analysis click here.
